The pointis at which the tangent is drawn is such the ordinate and the abscissa are equal, that is y=x. The slope of the tangent is the value of dy/dx at a given point .
y2 = 4 - x2
Since x = y , by substituting in the equation, we get
2x2 = 2
∴ x = y = √2
